Welcome to Spring!!

Well some of us have spring.  Some of us have summer (New York, Boston, New England).  Others are stuck in winter (Denver, Utah)!!  And some are just stuck in wild weather (Oklahoma, Alabama).  If you've been touched by any of the natural disasters, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

With spring arriving, many activities start to move outdoors.  Dinner on the patio.  Kids playing in the yard.  Recess on the playground.  

Spring reminds me of playing tag on the playground at school.  So, in honor of our childhood memories...

Joining our team this month as our Guest Designer we welcome Charlene Mitchell!

My name is Charlene. I’m 46 years old and live in Southern Ontario, Canada. I have been doing crafts of some sort for as long as I can remember, including crocheting (simple afghans), cross-stitch, beaded ornaments and desktop publishing (making mirrors, buttons & notepads). I also made cards on the computer using clipart and photos, then made cards with the main image done in cross-stitch. I started stamping about 5 years ago and have been addicted ever since! In the last year I discovered digi images and LOVE them! My favourite medium is prismacolour pencils and gamsol (or OMS).

My style is pretty simple – I seldom use lace, and cards never seem to turn out when I add too many embellishments. I love animal images and ‘cute’ or pretty, ones that make me smile and images that make me laugh out loud! In the last year I have participated in many challenges where I can donate a card (or cards) and continue to be overwhelmed by how much some ‘paper and ink’ (and a kind word), affect people’s lives.

I first came across Dude Time Doodles through Marlene S.’s blog. I love the humour and the risqué sentiments and the stuff that you want to say but maybe/probably shouldn’t! I created my blog mostly so I can showcase whatever I want (i.e. risqué) and to be able to promote the artists and sites that I want! I’m very excited to have the chance to be a guest designer this month. I hope I can help inspire you!

March Inspirational Challenge

Howdy Pardner!!

So glad you joined us today.  This week we're celebrating Cowboys.  Everything about cowboys hollers masculine.  From their jingling spurs to their ten gallon hats.  Their six shooters to their roping lassos.  They have big hearts and look really good when they ride up on their white horses.  

Our sponsor this week is the fantastic PaperTemptress.    You can find all of your crafting paper needs here.  From the standard cardstock to your drop dead goregous linens.

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it (Yeah, threw a little Mission Impossible at ya there.), is to use the colors and elements in the photo below to create a masculine card or project with a cowboy in mind.

Everyone has a little cowboy in them.  Let's see how the Dudette's and our one Dude can cowboy up.

Dawn has created a serene scene with Cactus Kirk, awesome papers and a great charm with a cool font for her sentiment.

Ruth used CowPoke Cal and one of the accompanying sentiments for a great birthday card with kraft paper and gold stars. 

Anne used a lot of twine (along the edges of the card, the star and Cal's hat band) on her great six-shooter card with CowPoke Cal, bright color cardstock and silver six-shooters cutouts.

Rodeo Randy is the center piece of Tammy's card with fabulous papers, textures and funny sentiment.  

Cactus Kirk is back in Kevin's cowboy creation with gold stars and cool green gingham paper.

C Bizkit is having a hard time remembering the hill in Michelle's great birthday card with brown twine, great paper choices and a super layout.

Looks like Deputy Dave is having a swinging good time in CG's beautiful card with Deputy badge accents.

One of this month's guest designers, Crafty Girl, created a great birthday card using CowPoke Cal and some dimensional stars.

Sharon, our Aussie guest designer, proves that cowboys aren't only in America with her cool card using Super Trooper Tripp, deputy badges and lasso.
